Video is an incredibly powerful tool in establishing trust for your brand. How? When people watch others talk about subjects they are interested in, their brains begin to trust what they are seeing and hearing. Of course, the content needs to be accurate! If the viewer knows more than the supposed "expert," any potential credibility will be gone so it is extremely important to know what you're talking about before presenting yourself as a subject matter expert!
The concept of borrowed credibility is what makes customer testimonials so powerful; you're not the one talking about yourself-you have satisfied customers doing that for you. If you are good at what you do, you should have a wealth of contacts that can give you positive testimonials-referrals are gold for any business and if you want to be a referral-based business, than you have to go above and beyond in delivering your products and/or services to ensure that every customer has the same experience.
Remember, at the end of the day, people buy from people they know, like, and trust. You don't get to trust without being known and liked...so let's focus on being the kind of business owners that are enjoyable to be around, add value to every interaction and spread kindness wherever and however we can! In this society, a little kindness goes a long way in making a good impression and it doesn't cost you anything.
