Sure, you could shoot your video on auto mode, but do you really want the camera to adjust the settings for you only to find that your ISO is too high, the auto-focus "fishes" to find the right focus, the shutter speed is too slow so everything has motion blur, etc.? Learning how to use your camera properly is the first step in producing higher quality videos for your audience. Another factor to consider is that if you don't take the time to produce quality content, what does that communicate to your viewer in terms of how important you perceive them to be?
